Stratejik yönetimin sürdürülebilirliği, yükseköğretim kurumlarının (YÖK) dinamik ortamlarda uzun vadeli başarısını güvence altına almak için kritik öneme sahiptir. Etkili risk yönetimi, iç ve dış belirsizlikleri tanımlayıp değerlendirerek stratejik sürekliliği koruyan temel bir bileşendir. Bu çalışma, risk yönetimi çerçevelerinin YÖK’lerde stratejik yönetim süreçlerinin sürdürülebilirliğine katkısını incelemektedir. Proaktif risk tanımlamanın uyarlanabilir planlama ve karar alma süreçlerini destekleyerek kurumsal dayanıklılığı güçlendirdiği vurgulanmaktadır. Ayrıca, entegre risk kültürü, liderlik bağlılığı ve sürekli izleme mekanizmalarının risk yönetimini stratejik hedeflerle uyumlu hale getirmedeki önemi ele alınmaktadır. Bulgular, kapsamlı risk yönetimi uygulayan kurumların finansal dalgalanmalara, teknolojik kesintilere ve düzenleyici değişikliklere daha etkili yanıt verebildiğini göstermektedir. Sonuç olarak, risk odaklı kültürün geliştirilmesi ve sistematik risk değerlendirmesinin stratejik planlamaya entegrasyonu, YÖK’lerde sürdürülebilir stratejik yönetimin temel koşuludur.

The sustainability of strategic management is critically important for higher education institutions (HEIs) to ensure long-term success in dynamic environments. Effective risk management is a fundamental component that safeguards strategic continuity by identifying and assessing internal and external uncertainties. This study examines the contribution of risk management frameworks to the sustainability of strategic management processes in HEIs. It emphasizes that proactive risk identification strengthens institutional resilience by supporting adaptive planning and decision-making processes. Furthermore, it highlights the significance of an integrated risk culture, leadership commitment, and continuous monitoring mechanisms in aligning risk management with strategic objectives. The findings demonstrate that institutions implementing comprehensive risk management practices respond more effectively to financial fluctuations, technological disruptions, and regulatory changes. Ultimately, developing a risk-oriented culture and integrating systematic risk assessment into strategic planning represent essential conditions for sustaining effective strategic management in higher education.
