Öz

This study explores the concept of algorithmic governmentality, which refers to the government of human behavior and social life through digital data. Based on the principles of calculability, correlation, and predictability, this mode of governmentality reduces individuals to profiles and, in conjunction with neoliberal rationality, aims to predict and guide behavior in an automated and invisible manner. The study argues that algorithms are not merely data-driven technical tools, but also function as a form of power that shapes subjectivity, freedom, and meaning-making. By transferring modern ideals of instrumental rationality and certainty into the digital realm, this approach suppresses fundamental human capacities such as contingency, error, and creative thinking. As a result, algorithmic governmentality produces a digital dystopia that weakens both freedom and subjectivity. Yet, possibilities for individual and collective transformation persist precisely in that which cannot be measured or predicted.

Öz

Bu çalışma, insan davranışlarının ve toplumsal yaşamın dijital veriler aracılığıyla yönetimini ifade eden algoritmik yönetimsellik kavramını ele almaktadır. Hesaplanabilirlik, korelasyon ve öngörülebilirlik ilkelerine dayanan bu yönetim biçimi, bireyleri profillere indirgerken, neoliberal rasyonaliteyle birleşerek davranışları otomatik ve görünmez biçimde öngörmekte ve yönlendirmektedir. Çalışmada algoritmaların sadece veriye dayalı teknik araçlar değil, aynı zamanda öznellik, özgürlük ve anlam üretimi üzerinde etkili bir iktidar biçimi olduğu savunulmaktadır. Modern dönemde ortaya çıkan araçsal rasyonalite ve kesinlik ideallerini dijital düzleme taşıyan bu yaklaşım, bireylerin rastlantısallık, hata yapma ve yaratıcı düşünme gibi temel kapasitelerini baskılamaktadır. Sonuç olarak, algoritmik yönetimsellik, özgürlük ve öznelliği zayıflatan dijital bir distopya üretmektedir. Bireysel ve toplumsal dönüşüm olanakları ise ölçülemeyen ve öngörülemeyen ihtimallerde varlık bulmaktadır.
