It is aimed to determine the amount of melamine and formaldehyde that pose a health risk in melamine tablewares offered for sale in Turkey and to compare them with legal limit values. As material, 30 samples, 5 from each of 6 different groups, namely plates, glasses, forks, spoons, bowls and trays, which are tableware pieces, were used. Melamine analysis was performed by HPLC/MS/MS and formaldehyde analysis was performed by spectrophotometric method. The number of samples determined by melamine in 30 pieces of melamine tableware offered for sale in Turkey is 23, and none of these samples exceed the legal limits. However, formaldehyde was detected in all samples. The amount of formaldehyde, like melamine, could not be determined above the legal limits.
