Teachers working in primary education have an essential role in value education. For this reason, this study aims to reveal the views of primary school teachers regarding values education. The research used one of qualitative research methods, the phenomenology. Group of the study was determined by diversity sampling. The study group of the research consists of 33 pre-school and classroom teachers working during the 2020-2021 academic year. The study collected data through the interview form developed by the researchers. To determine the interview questions, literature scan was undertaken and interviews were conducted with the teachers. After receiving expert opinion on the created questions, interviews were conducted with the teachers and after that the questions were finalized. Thus, an interview form which contains 13 structured questions was created. The data obtained in the research were analyzed by descriptive analysis technique. The study indicates that while values education considered necessary, factors such as; academic-oriented understanding, inadequacy in the curriculum and the fact that the practice is left to the initiative of the teacher are negatively affect values education. The study also suggests that the family is of utmost importance in the development of values, besides that media, social media, and friends are effective in values education, other findings also suggest that values education is generally undertaken via inculcation approach, and that its assessment and follow-up is difficult. In line with these results, suggestions such as placing values education at the centre of the curriculum, organizing life-based activities, ensuring family-school-communication, and using modern value teaching methods are made.
