It is undebatable that knowledge of countries and intercultural learning are important phenomena in German Language Teaching programs in Turkey. Developing and encouraging intercultural communication competence is a main purpose of German Language Teaching departments. Other than course books, materials and media tools, teaching staff is especially important and takes on essential roles in this process. The main purpose of this study is to reveal to what extent teaching staff of German Language Teaching departments address knowledge of countries and intercultural communication in their lectures. In accordance with this purpose, the opinions of the teaching staff working in German Language Teaching departments in various universities of Turkey have been collected on intercultural competence. One of the significant results in accordance with the findings of the study is that teaching staff attach great importance to intercultural learning and apply it via different media, information and communication technologies, activities and exercises.
