Öz

Purpose of this study is to examine the reliability and validity of the Turkish adaptation of The Attitudes towards Mathematics Inventory by Tapia (1996). In this study, data gathered from 210 elementary pre-service teachers were used for Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis to determine the structure of factor loading. The factor loading among the sub-scales showed some differences in comparison to the number of the factors in original instrument. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient for the overall instrument was found as 0.785. The adapted instrument includes 32 items placed on a 5-point likert type scale. The instrument includes 2 subscales: self-efficacy and value of mathematics. The instrument is valid and reliable and appropriate to use in Turkish culture

8. özgün halinden farklı olduğunu göstermiştir. Bununla beraber, verilere uygulanan DFA

9. sonuçları AFA sonucunda oluşan yapının kabul edilebilir düzeyde bir uyum
10. gösterdiğini ortaya koymuştur. Güvenilirlik çalışması kapsamında yapılan test tekrar
11. test sonuçları uyarlanan ölçeğin yüksek bir iç tutarlılığa sahip olduğunu göstermiştir.
12. Buna bağlı olarak, uyarlanan ölçeğin yapı geçerliliğine sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ölçeğin özgün halinde öz-güven (15 madde), güdüleme (5 madde), mutluluk
13. (10 madde) ve matematiğin değeri (10 madde) olmak üzere dört faktörlü bir yapının
14. mevcut olduğu görülmektedir. Ölçeğin uyarlanan halinde ise özgün yapıdan farklı bir
15. şekilde; öz-güven (18 madde) ve matematiğin değeri (14 madde) olmak üzere iki
16. faktörlü bir biçimin oluştuğu belirlenmiştir. Benzer şekilde, Lim ve Chapman
17. (2013)’nın Tapia’nın MİTÖ’ni uyarlamak amacıyla yaptıkları çalışmada dört faktörlü
18. yapının korunmasına rağmen 21 maddeyi çıkarttıkları görülmüştür. Buna ek olarak,
19. araştırmacılar analiz sonuçlarına göre ölçekte yer alan güdüleme boyutunun çıkarılarak
20. 15 maddelik formunun üç alt boyut kullanılarak uygulanmaların yapılabileceğini
21. vurgulamaktadır. Sonuç olarak, ölçeğin Türkçe’ye uyarlanan halinin 32 maddeden oluştuğu
22. görülmüştür. Ölçeğin tümü için hesaplanan cronbach alfa iç tutarlık katsayısı 0.785’dir.
23. Bu değer ölçeğin güvenilir olma sınırı olarak kabul edilen 0.70’in üzerindedir. Bu
24. durum ölçeğin güvenilir olduğunu göstermektedir (Field, 2005). Elde edilen sonuçlar,
25. Türkçe’ye uyarlanan MİTÖ’nin sınıf öğretmeni adaylarında kullanılabilecek geçerli ve
