Psikolojide Tematik Analizin Kullanımı

Öz

Tematik analiz, sınırları çok iyi çizilmemiş olmasına ve az tanınmasına rağmen, psikoloji alanında yaygın olarak kullanılan nitel bir analiz yöntemidir. Bu makalede, tematikanaliz yönteminin nitel verilerin analizinde kullanışlı ve kuramsal açıdan esnek bir yaklaşım olduğu savunulmaktadır. Bu çalışmada öncelikle, tema veya örüntülerin arandığı diğer nitel analiz yöntemleri ve farklı epistemolojik ve ontolojik yaklaşımlar bağlamında tematik analizin ne olduğu ana hatlarıyla tanımlanmaktadır. Ardından, tematik analize ilk defa başlayacak ya da analizlerini daha planlı bir şekilde yapmak isteyen araştırmacılar için açık yönergeler sunulmuştur. Son olarak, tematik analizin dezavantajları ve avantajları özetlenmiştir. Sonuç bölümünde, tematik analizin psikoloji ve diğer disiplinlerde yürütülen nitel araştırmalarda kulllanılabilecek yararlı ve esnek bir teknik olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
