Bu araştırmanın amacı, ortaokul öğrencilerinin açılarla ilgili kavramlaştırmalarının incelenmesidir. Nitel yöntemlerin
kullanıldı
ğı araştırma İstanbul’da aynı ilçeye bağlı iki ayrı devlet okulunda 6. sınıfta öğrenim görmekte olan öğrencilerle 2014-2015 eğitim-öğretim yılının bahar
döneminde gerçekle
ştirilmiştir (n = 256). Araştırmanın verileri araştırmacıların geliştirdikleri açılar
konusuyla ilgili açık uçlu sorulara ö
ğrencilerin verdikleri yanıtlardan oluşmaktadır. Öğrenci yanıtlarının
incelenmesinde kavramsal çerçeve olarak Bloom Taksonomisi temel alınmı
ş ve betimsel istatistik teknikleri - kullanılarak analizler yürütülmüştür. Öğrencilerin bilgi (tanımlama
ve sınıflandırma), uygulama ve de
ğerlendirme düzeyindeki
de
ğişik sorulara verdikleri yanıtlar incelendiğinde tüm düzeylerdeki soru tiplerinde zorluk yaşadıkları görülmüştür. Tek kelime olarak verilen
sınıflandırma türü soruda ö
ğrencilerin performanslarının
nispeten daha yüksek görülmü
ştür. Özellikle açılarla
ilgili kavramları tanımlamada ve açılarla ilgili ö
ğrenilmiş bir kuralı nedenleriyle
açıklamada zorluk ya
şadıkları ortaya çıkmıştır. . Bunun yanısıra, öğrencilerin bir kuralı
ezberledikleri ve geometriyi tutarlı bir sistem olarak görüp
şekil üzerinden kural açıklaması yapamadıkları gözlenmiştir. Öğretmenlerin Bloom Taksonomisi’ndeki
bili
şsel alanların göz önünde bulundurulduğu değişik soru tipleriyle tanıştırılması ve kavramların
daha derin anla
şılması için tanımların ve geometrik
argümanların kendi içinde tutarlı oldu
ğunu öğretmeleri bu çalışmanın eğitimsel önerileri
arasındadır.
