Sosyal Bilgiler Dersinde Öğretmenlerin Kullandıkları Filmlerin Eğitsel Açıdan İncelenmesi: Charlie ve Çikolata Fabrikası

Öz

Eğitimde belirlenen amaçlara ulaşabilmek için çeşitli öğretim materyallerine ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bunlardan biri de eğitici filmlerdir. Eğitici filmler, okulda gerçekleştirilen öğrenmeleri desteklemek amacıyla, dersin amaç ve kazanımlarına uygun olarak belirlenmektedir. Eğitici filmlerin, ders materyali olarak kullanılabilecek özelliklere sahip olması gerekmektedir. Bu araştırmada öğretmenlerin sosyal bilgiler dersinde eğitsel amaçlı en çok kullandıkları “Charlie ve Çikolata Fabrikası” filminin, MEB tarafından belirlenen kriterlere göre incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Filmin incelenmesinde nitel araştırma desenlerinden olgubilim deseni ve doküman analizi yöntemi; elde edilen verilerin analizinde ise içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan 45 sınıf öğretmeni, sosyal bilgiler derslerinde en çok “Charlie ve Çikolata Fabrikası” filmini tercih ettiklerini belirtmişlerdir. Bu ‎film, MEB tarafından belirlenen "Taslak Ders Kitabı ve Eğitim Araçları İle Bunlara Ait E-‎İçeriklerin İncelenmesinde Değerlendirmeye Esas Olacak Kriterler Ve Açıklamaları" adlı ‎kriterlere göre incelenmiştir. İnceleme sonucunda filmin eşitlik, insan hakları ve ayrımcılığı reddetme gibi ilkelere uygun olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca aile, sabır, eşitlik, dürüstlük ve boş zamanı etkili değerlendirme gibi niteliklerin kazandırılması bakımından öğretim programının amaçlarına da uygun olduğu belirlenmiştir. Filmdeki görseller, ışıklandırma, anlaşılır olma, merak uyandırma ve renklendirme bakımından uygun özellikler taşımaktadır.

The Educational Examination of The Films Used by Teachers in Social Studies Lesson: ‎Charlie and the Chocolate ‎Factory

Öz

To achieve the goals in education, the various teaching materials are needed. One of them is educational films. The educational films are important to the aims of the lesson and these supports the learning at school. Educational films must have features that can be used as course material. In this research, aimed to examine the movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", frequently advised by teachers for educational purposes in social studies lesson, according to the criteria determined by the Ministry of Education. The phenomenology design and document analysis method were used in the examination of the film. The data collected from the teachers are analyzed with the content analysis. 45 elementary school teachers who participated in the research stated that they mostly preferred the movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" in their social studies lessons. This film has been examined according to the criteria named "Draft Textbook and Education Tools and Criteria to be the Basis of Evaluation in the Examination of E-Contents and Their Explanations" decided by the Ministry of Education. As a result of the examination, determined that the film complies with the principles such as equality, human rights and rejection of discrimination. The film supports the aims of the curriculum in acquiring qualities such as family, patience, equality, honesty and effective use of leisure time. The visuals in the film have suitable features in terms of lighting, clarity, arousing curiosity and coloring.
