Mimarlık Son Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Alan Seçimlerine Yönelik Bir Değerlendirme

Öz

Mimarlık meslek pratiği 21. yüzyılda heterojen, çok katmanlı ve sürekli dönüşen bir karaktere sahiptir. Bu heterojen karakter mimarlık mesleğinde uzmanlaşma olgusunu önemli hâle getirmektedir. Öğrencilerin mimarlık mesleğindeki farklı alanlara ilişkin ilgi ve bilgilerinin değerlendirildiği bu araştırma, Gazi Üniversitesi, Mimarlık Fakültesi, Mimarlık Bölümünde bulunan 69 son sınıf lisans öğrencisi kapsamında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında anket tekniğinden ve yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Anket verilerin analizinde frekans ve yüzdeler kullanılırken; görüşmeler doğrultusunda elde edilen bilgiler ise betimsel analiz yöntemi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada alan seçimine etkisi olduğu düşünülen alt başlıklara yönelik veriler oluşturulmuş ve bu verilerin güncel mimarlık eğitiminin uzmanlaşılmak istenilen alan seçimine yönelik etkisi araştırılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin, alan seçimleri ile bu alanlara ilişkin bilgi düzeyleri arasında büro ve kamu alanlarında uyumlu sonuçlar elde edilmiş, buna karşın şantiye ve akademi alan tercihlerinde bilgi düzeyi ve alan tercihi ilişkisinin kurulmadığı görülmüştür.

The Field Preference of Senior Architecture Students

Öz

Architectural professional practice has a heterogeneous, multilayered and continuously transforming character in the 21st century. This heterogeneous character makes the specialization more important than ever. This research, in which students' knowledge and skills levels related to the fields of architecture are determined, was carried out within the scope of 69 senior undergraduate students in the Department of Architecture of Gazi University. Survey technique and semi-structured interview method were used to collect data. In the analysis of collected survey data, frequencies and percentages were used; information obtained in accordance with the interviews was evaluated by descriptive analysis method. In the study, data for sub-headings that are thought to have an effect on the selection of the field were designed and the effect of current architectural education on the selected field was investigated. As a result of the study, it was seen that the students' level of knowledge about the field preference and their knowledge about these fields were consistent in their preferences of office and public fields, but the relationship between level of knowledge and field preference was not established in their preferences of construction site and academic field.
