Bisfenol A (BFA) ve Halk Sağlığı Açısından Önemi

Öz

Bisfenol A, polikarbonat plastiklerin ve epoksi reçinelerin üretiminde kullanılan en tehlikeli kimyasallardandır. Gıda sanayinde kullanılan plastik ve konserve gibi gıda ambalaj materyalleri de yüksek oranda Bisfenol A içermektedir. Bisfenol A, endokrin sistem bozucu, toksik, teratojenik, karsinojenik, mutajenik ve östrojenik etkilere sahip olup insan ve hayvan sağlığını önemli ölçüde etkilemektedir. Gerek ülkemizde gerekse dünya otoritelerince günlük alımına sınırlamalar getirilen Bisfenol A’nın bugün üretimi 8 milyon tonu bulmuştur. Bu derlemede Bisfenol A’nın gıda sektöründe ve halk sağlığı açısından önemi hakkında bilgi verilecektir
