Adaptation of the Leisure Crafting Scale into Turkish: The Validity and Reliability Study

Although, there are studies about leisure crafting in the literature, many of them are qualitative studies. Leisure crafting scale was developed by Petrou and Bakker (2016) to measure it in a quantitative way. The scale developed by Petrou and Bakker (2016) was not previously adapted to Turkish. In this direction, the aim of the study is to adapt and translate leisure crafting scale developed by Petrou and Bakker (2016) into Turkish. Thus, a questionnaire was applied to 391 students in Istanbul who were studying at one of the private universities. The validity and reliability of the scale were tested according to the obtained data. Findings showed that, leisure crafting scale is a reliable and valid measurement tool and it can be used in the sample research groups in Turkey.

Boş Zaman Becerikliliği Ölçeğinin Türkçeye Uyarlanması: Geçerlik ve Güvenirlik Çalışması

Öz

Boş zaman becerikliliğine yönelik literatürde birçok çalışma olmakla birlikte bu araştırmaların çoğu nitel çalışmalardan oluşmaktadır. Petrou ve Bakker (2016) tarafından geliştirilen ölçekle beraber boş zaman becerikliliği nicel olarak da ölçmek mümkün olmuştur. Petrou ve Bakker (2016) tarafından geliştirilen ölçek daha öncesinde Türkçeye uyarlanmamıştır. Bu doğrultuda, çalışmanın amacı ise Petrou ve Bakker (2016) tarafından geliştirilen boş zaman becerikliliği ölçeğini Türkçeye uyarlamak ve çevirmektir. Bu maksatla İstanbul’da özel üniversitelerde okuyan 391 öğrenciye anket uygulanmıştır. Ölçeğin geçerliliği ve güvenilirliği elde edilen verilere göre test edilmiştir. Bulgular, boş zaman becerikliliği ölçeğinin güvenilir ve geçerli bir ölçüm aracı olduğunu ve Türkiye'deki örnek araştırma gruplarında kullanılabileceğini göstermiştir.
