Adölesanlarda COVID-19 Korkusunun Sağlığı Geliştirme Davranışlarına Etkisi

Öz

Amaç: Bu araştırmada, adölesanların COVID-19 korku düzeylerinin sağlığı geliştirme davranışları üzerine etkisinin belirlenmesi amaçlamıştır.

Gereç ve Yöntem: 24-30 Haziran 2021 tarihlerinde gerçekleştirilen bu çalışma kesitsel tasarıma sahiptir. Araştırmanın örneklemi Denizli il merkezinde yaşayan yaşları 10 ile 19 arasında değişen 375 adölesandan oluşmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak kişisel bilgi formu, COVID-19 Korkusu Ölçeği ve Adölesan Sağlığı Geliştirme Ölçeği-Kısa Formu kullanılmıştır. Sağlığı geliştirme davranışlarını etkileyen faktörleri incelemek için çoklu regresyon analizi yapılmıştır.

Bulgular: Bu çalışmada adölesanların ortalama 17,66±6,13 (min.7- max. 35) olan COVID-19 korku düzeyleri orta düzeydedir. COVID-19 korkusunun sağlığı geliştirme davranışlarını olumlu yönde ve anlamlı şekilde etkilediği (β=0,135, p <0,004) belirlenmiştir.

Sonuç: COVID-19 korkusunun adölesan sağlığını geliştirme davranışlarını etkilediği belirlenmiştir. Adölesan sağlığını geliştirme davranışlarını etkileyen diğer değişkenler ise yeterli ve dengeli beslenme, düzenli fiziksel aktivite yapma, sağlık algısı, ekran süresi ve BKİ’dir.

The Effect of Fear of COVID-19 on Health Promotion Behaviors in Adolescents

Öz

Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of adolescents’ COVID-19 fear levels on their health promotion behaviors.

Materials and Methods: This study, which was carried out on 24-30 June 2021, has a cross-sectional design. The study sample consists of 375 adolescents aged between 10 and 19 living in the city center of Denizli. Personal information form, The Fear of COVID-19 Scale, and the Short Form-Adolescent Health Promotion Scale were used as data collection tools. Multiple regression analysis was performed to examine the predictive variables of health promotion behaviors.

Results: In this study, the mean COVID-19 fear level of the adolescents was 17.66±6.13, which means a moderate level. It was determined that fear of COVID-19 predicted health promotion behaviors positively and significantly (β=0.135, p <0.004).

Conclusion: It has been determined that fear of COVID-19 affects adolescent health promotion behaviors. Other variables affecting adolescent health promotion behaviors are adequate and balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, health perception, screen time, and BMI.
