Spontaneous Pregnancy In An Infertile Woman After Hypnotic Interventions, A Case Report

Öz

It is well known that emotional stress is a confounding factor that negatively affects fertility potential, especially in cases of unexplained infertility. There are a limited number of studies investigating the effectiveness of hypnosis and psychotherapeutic interventions in these cases. Here in this report, we wanted to present a primary infertile woman with a diagnosis of unexplained infertility for 10 years. This patient had a spontaneous pregnancy in the absence of any medical treatment during her psychotherapies via hypnosis. The women are reported to suffer more from emotional stress than man during infertility assessments, which negatively affects every step of infertility treatment. Although the number of studies searching the effects of hypnotherapies on infertile cases is limited, there are also studies that report high success rates with these therapies. Therefore, we believe it may be beneficial to try hypnotherapeutic interventions during expensive and invasive infertility treatments.

Bir İnfertilite Olgusunda Hipnoz Terapileri Sonrasında Spontan Gebelik Eldesi, Vaka Sunumu

Öz

Özellikle açıklanamayan infertilite olgularında emosyonel stresin fertiliteyi olumsuz etkileyen faktörlerden biri olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu olgularda hipnoz ve psikoterapi uygulamalarının etkinliğine dair çok az sayıda çalışma mevcuttur. Burada sunmak istediğimiz vakada 10 yıldır açıklanamayan infertilite tanısı ile takip edilen primer infertil bir hastanın tedavisiz döneminde hipnoz tedavileri sonucu spontan gebelik elde etmesinden bahsedilecektir. İnfertil çiftlerin değerlendirilmesinde özellikle kadınların erkeklere göre daha fazla stres yaşadığı bildirilmekte ve bu durum tedavinin her aşamasını olumsuz yönde etkilemektedir. Literatürde infertilite olguları üzerinde hipnoz tedavilerinin etkilerini tespit etmeye yönelik çalışma sayısı oldukça az olmakla birlikte yüksek başarı oranlarından bahseden çalışmalar da bulunmaktadır. Dolayısıyla hem maliyetlerin hem de invaziv girişimlerin arttığı infertilite tedavileri esnasında hipnoz tedavilerinin denenmesinin faydalı olabileceğini düşünmekteyiz.
