Mehmet Kırkıncı (1928-2016), one of Turkey’s leading opinion leaders, was born in Erzurum. At a time when all kinds of religious education, including teaching the Qur’an, was forbidden, he secretly took lessons from various madrasa teachers and completed his education according to the classical madrasa system. He visited him after his teachers praised Bediuzzaman Said Nursi, an oriental scholar. While Kırkıncı Hodja continued to teach according to the madrasah method, he performed his religious service based on the Risale-i Nur. Helped college students. He bought a house for them and made them read the Risale-i Nur. With the expansion of opportunities, he encouraged his friends to build a homeland. He always kept in touch with administrators and politicians so that they would not fall into the wrong perception of Islam and harm Muslims. He wrote nearly forty books on subjects that mostly advocate the principles of faith and serve the integrity of the country and he especially impressed university students with his conversations. It is possible to see as lecturers in many universities today, the students who participated in his talks. In this article, Mehmet Kırkıncı’s life and personal activity were revealed by using the document analysis method, one of the qualitative datac ollection methods.
