İki Dillilik ve Hollanda’daki İki Dilli Türk Çocuklarının Anadilleri ve Hâkim Dilleri Arasındaki İlişki Üzerine Bir İnceleme

Öz

Çok dilli ya da çift dilli kişilerin konuşmaları sırasında her bir dilin diğer dil ler üzerindeki etkileri görülebilir. İlk dilin etkileri ikinci dil üzerinde görülürken, ikinci dilin de birinci dilin çeşitli beceri alanları üzerindeki etkileri gözlemlenebilir. İkinci dil edinimiyle ilgili çalışmalarda diller arasındaki ilişkinin ve bunların nasıl öğrenildiğinin dikkate alınması gerekir. Günümüzde giderek daha fazla sayıda okul geçmiş öğrenme deneyimlerine sahip ve farklı dil kökenlerinden gelen öğrenciler karşısında çeşitli zorluklar yaşıyor. Azınlık mensubu çocukların çift dilliliği bir dezavantaj olarak görülse de, söz konusu araştırmada her iki dilde yetkin olan çift dilli çocukların okulda daha başarılı olduğu ortaya konmaktadır. Bu çalışmada çift dilli ve çok dilli kişilerin bu dilleri hangi şartlar altında kazandıkları dikkate alınmakta ve birinci dilin diğer dil kazanımlarını nasıl etkilediği, çocukların birinci dildeki okuryazarlıklarının ikinci dildeki okuma becerilerini nasıl etkilediği ve çift dilliliğe ve çok dilliliğe karşı genel tutum incelenmektedir. Bu çalışmada Hollanda’daki Türk göçmenlerin çift dilli çocuklarının dil becerileri incelenerek birinci dilin egemen dili kazanmada oynadığı rol açıklanmaktadır.
