Investigation of the Teacher Candidates’ in Different Degree Programs Perceptions and Sensitivity towards Air Pollution
Öz
In this research, teacher candidates’ perceptions and sensitivities were determined who were
studied in the first and fourth grade levels in different degree programs. Research was carried
out in the survey model. Teacher candidates’ perceptions and sensitivities of air pollution were
determined with regard scale developed by the Akkurt (2011). The study group, consisted of 273
teacher candidates who have been studying in the Gazi University Faculty of Education. The
scale was administered to the four different degree programs of Primary Classroom Teaching,
Science Teaching, Turkish Language Teaching and Social Studies Teaching. According to the
findings, there was a significant differences between the views of first and fourth grade teacher
candidates and taken an environmental education at the university. Fourth grade teacher
candidates’ and who have taken an environmental education course, their perceptions and
sensitivities of air pollution were determined at a higher level.
