Parents face many stress factors and may require various support mechanisms. Positive psychology is one approach that helps individuals cope with stress in a healthier way by utilizing their potential. In this context, this study aimed to examine the effect of the Strengths-Based Parent Psychoeducation Program (SPPP), which is based on positive psychology, on participants’ levels of self-compassion, gratitude, and psychological resilience, and to explore parents’ views during the experimental implementation process. This study used a convergent mixed methods design. The research was conducted in a public kindergarten in Ankara. The quantitative phase of the study used an experimental design with pre- and post-tests and included both experimental and control groups (2×2 design). Each experimental and control group consisted of eight participants. The SPPP comprised five sessions. In the program, each session lasted 75-90 minutes. The experimental implementation was conducted during the 2024-2025 academic year. Quantitative data were collected using the Gratitude Scale, Self-Compassion Scale, and Brief Psychological Resilience Scale, while qualitative data were gathered using the Self-Assessment Form. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test was used for intra-group comparisons, and the Mann-Whitney U test was used for inter-group comparisons. Qualitative data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. According to the quantitative findings, there was a statistically significant difference between the experimental group’s pre- and post-test results for self-compassion, gratitude, and psychological resilience. No significant differences were observed between the groups. Qualitative data were categorized under the themes of psychological resilience, gratitude, and self-compassion. Consequently, the SPPP, which was designed by integrating constructs such as self-compassion, gratitude, and psychological resilience, had a positive effect on these variables. Qualitative data also supported the quantitative findings.
