Öz
Countries which are successful in the global exams
such as PISA, TIMMS give importance to the evaluation selection, training and
performance of school principals to improve the quality of education. Principals
must perceive their roles as the leader of the school and education rather than
the school’s administrator. The selection and training of the appropriate
candidates are considered to be an important factor in terms of effectiveness
and efficiency. Qualifications possessed
by the principal candidates should be important and brought some criteria.
Training of candidates to be appointed as a principal will allow school
principals to manage schools effectively. In the literature, it seems to be a
