CALL FOR PAPERS

Submission Deadline

August 15, 2021

Dear Authors,
You are cordially invited to submit your research papers for the second issue of the Turkish Journal of Diaspora Studies (TJDS). The second issue of TJDS is highly interested in research papers that highlight the 60th anniversary of the Turkish diaspora in Germany and other related topics.

Turkish labor migration to Western European countries, especially Germany, is one of the most remarkable examples of mass labor migration in our modern time. Their journey began after the Second World War and continues today. The Turkish community in Germany - which has a considerable place in the development of the Turkish Diaspora with its population, experience, institutions, and social capital – enters its 60th year in the country. In this context, our second issue is dedicated to studies involving different angles and approaches to this particular topic.

Topics to be discussed in this issue include (but are not limited to) the following:
Documenting the journey
Diasporization of the Turkish community in Germany
Diaspora engagement policies
Diaspora and assimilation policies
Diaspora and human geopolitics
Turkish diaspora and development
Turkish diaspora and their economy/culture/politics/institutions
Migration and mobility
Diaspora and imaginations
Turkish diaspora and other diasporas in Germany
