EXAMINING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COMPASSION FATIGUE AND PSYCHOLOGICAL RESILIENCE LEVELS OF MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

Öz

This study aimed to examine the relationship between compassion fatigue and psychological resilience among mental health professionals. After responding to demographic and professional background questions via Google Forms, participants completed the Compassion Fatigue Scale and the Psychological Resilience Scale for Adults. The study collected data from a total of 440 participants, including 222 psychologists and 218 psychological counselors residing in various provinces across Turkey. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 22, and the research questions were addressed through descriptive statistical methods. The findings revealed a moderately significant positive correlation between compassion fatigue and psychological resilience levels among mental health professionals. The results are discussed in relation to the existing literature.

RUH SAĞLIĞI UZMANLARININ ŞEFKAT YORGUNLUĞU VE PSİKOLOJİK SAĞLAMLIK DÜZEYLERİ ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Öz

Bu araştırmada ruh sağlığı uzmanlarının şefkat yorgunluğu ve psikolojik sağlamlık düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Katılımcılar Google Forms üzerinden demografik ve mesleki bilgilerine ait soruları yanıtladıktan sonra sırasıyla Şefkat Yorgunluğu Ölçeği’ni ve Yetişkinler için Psikolojik Dayanıklılık Ölçeği’ni tamamlamışlardır. Araştırma kapsamında Türkiye’nin çeşitli illerinde yaşayan 222 psikolog, 218 psikolojik danışman olmak üzere toplam 440 katılımcının verisi toplanmıştır. Analizler IBM SPSS Statistics 22 yoluyla incelenmiştir. Araştırma soruları tanımlayıcı istatistiksel analizler ile yorumlanmıştır. Bulgulara göre ruh sağlığı uzmanlarının şefkat yorgunluğu ile psikolojik sağlamlık düzeyleri arasında orta düzeyde pozitif yönde anlamlı ilişki bulunmuştur. Çalışma bulguları literatüre dayanarak tartışılmıştır.
