In today's world organizations may survive and grow as long as they are successful. Leaders, who are expected to make organizations more successful, are considered important in this respect. In this context, besides the leaders who guide their followers and achieve organizational success by influencing their followers with their behaviors and discourses, there are also leaders who reduce the motivation of their employees, devalue them and lead them to failure. These negative behaviors seen in leaders; it is seen with the emergence of the dark side that they suppress and keep under control. The leader, with the emergence of his dark side; exhibits negative and destructive behaviors that deeply affect the organization and its employees. At the beginning of these negative behaviors are dark leadership and favoritism. The aim of the study is to investigate the effect of dark leadership on favoritism in the context of the perceptions of employees in the textile industry. The sample of the research is selected from the employees of the medium and large-scale textile enterprises operating in the I. and II. Organized Industrial Zones in the province of Malatya. Questionnaire technique is used in the collection of research data, and the questionnaires of 513 participants are evaluated. According to the findings of the study, it is determined that dark leadership has a significant effect on favoritism in the context of the perceptions of the employees in the textile sector. It is thought that the findings can contribute to business managers and theoretical studies in the literature.
