Jealousy is an emotion that is at the heart of being human, is unpleasant, undesirable, and also has negative consequences. Jealousy is simply the fear of losing what people have. Because feelings of jealousy and envy are used interchangeably, they can often be confused. We can summarize the difference between envy and jealousy as follows; when it comes to obtaining it is envy, when it comes to preservation, it is jealousy. Therefore, in the study, both emotions are discussed separately. Because emotions are an integral part of workplaces, jealousy is addressed in an organizational context. The aim of the study is to examine the phenomenon of jealousy and its reflection on academic organizations. It is inevitable that there are negative feelings especially among the academicians working in an institutional structure where competition, promotion and hierarchical order are strictly applied. In the study, it is aimed to make an evaluation in order to draw the conceptual and theoretical framework of the phenomenon of jealousy in academic organizations. As a result of the study, it is seen that the issue of jealousy is addressed in general, but not in the context of jealousy in organizations. As a result, the theoretical infrastructure of jealousy in academic organizations and a perspective on the field of jealousy in organizations are discussed.
