Assist. Prof. Dr. Merve Açıkel Elmas graduated from Celal Bayar University, Department of Biology in 2008. Dr. Elmas received her MSc degree in Department of Biology from Ege University in 2011. Dr. Elmas has received her PhD degree in Department of Histology and Embryology from Marmara University in 2018. She worked as a specialist during her PhD within the histology and embryology department of Acıbadem University. During her MSc and Ph.D., she worked as a research scholar and researcher in scientific projects which are supported by The Scientific and Research Council of Turkey and Marmara U. Research Foundation. She has received young researcher scholarships and poster award from international congresses. She is a member of Turkish Society for Histology and Embriyology, Turkish Society for Electron Microscopy, International Federation of Societies for Histochemistry and Cytochemistry and European Microscopy Society. Her research areas are histology, histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, electron microscopy and glycobiology. She has been working in Department of Histology and Embryology, at Acibadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University, School of Medicine, since 2019.
