Bahar Biçen Aras graduated from the Department of Information and Document Management, Faculty of Literature Istanbul University, in 2000. In 2010, she received a MBA degree with her “Information Sharing in Organizational Communication “Study in General Management Graduate Program, Institute of Social Sciences Bahçeşehir University. She served as Information and Document Management expert for many years in Bahçeşehir University, Barbaros Library. She worked as a consultant and cataloging expert in the establishment of many libraries. She worked as Technical Services Department Head at MEF University Library. Bahar Biçen Aras who is Culture Sharing Platform Founderand a member of the Board of Directors held national and international exhibitions, meetings under Culture Sharing Platform. She is a member of the Turkish Librarians' Association, University and Research Librarians Association, the Association of School Librarians, Reading Culture Association and is actively involved in the association's working group. She has been serving as a Board Member of the Istanbul Branch of the Turkish Librarians' Association since August 2021. She worked in the Turkish Informatics Association Digital Agenda 2020 “Informatics Expertise Group in Culture and Art and the Turkish Librarians Association National Digitization Group”. In the second term of ANKOS Academy, she gave joint lectures as an RDA instructor. In 2017-2018, she took part in the “Social Media Policies for Libraries” studies of the Turkish Librarians Association Social Media Policy Working Group. She works in social responsibility projects. RDA deals with university libraries, libraries for the disabled and social media, academic library management, budgeting, electronic resources management and bibliometrics in academic institutions are top of the line professional interests. Bahar Biçen Aras has national and international publications on librarianship.
Effective January 3, 2021, she has been appointed as the Library Director of the Information Resources Directorate of Istinye University.
