Bio

Dr. Basharat Ahmad Malik's native village is Zalangam. The village came into the limelight more than a decade ago when Dr. Malik Tariq and Er. Abdul Rouf discovered an archaeological site in the village, which they believed to be a 1500-year-old archaeological site. They also released a monograph titled “Zalangam: Archaeological Discovery” that offers explicit details of the findings. Basharat Ahmad Malik recently received a doctorate degree from Aligarh Muslim University, where he was a Research Scholar in the Department of Library & Information Science. He has several research publications to his credit, particularly in the Journal of Librarianship and Information Science, The Serials Librarian, Nordic Journal of Botany, Ethnobotany Research and Applications, Collection and Curation, Annals of Library, and Information Studies, DESIDOC Journal of Library & Information Technology, Journal of Indian Library Association (JILA), and International Journal of Knowledge Management and Practices. He has presented research papers at various national and international conferences. His areas of interest include knowledge sharing, scientometrics, e-learning, and data extraction and analysis. Previously, he was one of the members of the Automation team appointed by the Central Library of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora, (J&K) in 2010. He also worked as a librarian at Harmukh College of Education and Al-Noor College of Education, Bandipora (J&K) from 2011 to 2012 and 2013 to 2015, respectively. In 2016, he worked as a librarian at Govt. Degree College Damhal, Hnajipora (J&K).
