José Ignacio Torreblanca (1968) holds a PhD in Political Science from the Complutense University of Madrid (1997) and is Professor of Political Science at the UNED (2003). He has published in West European Politics, European Integration Online Papers, Papeles de Economía Española, Foreign Policy en Español, Politique Européenne, Política Exterior and the Revista Española de Ciencia Política. He is the author of the books: "La soberanía digital de Europa" (Catarata, 2020, co-editor), "Asaltar los cielos: Podemos o la política después de la crisis" (Debate, 2015), "¿Quién Gobierna en Europa?"(Catarata, 2014); "The fragmentation of European power" (Icaria 2011) and "The Reuniting of Europe: promises, negotiations and compromises" (Asghate, 2001). He has been a Research Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations, the Real Instituto Elcano and the European University Institute in Florence. He was a Fulbright scholar and a professor at the Elliot School of International Affairs at the George Washington University in Washington D.C.
