Bio

Mehmet Bicakci is an esteemed academic and educator, renowned for his works in gifted education and giftedness within the sphere of educational psychology. Currently (June, 2023), he is an All But Dissertation (ABD) candidate in the Ph.D. Program of Gifted Education at Hacettepe University, Turkey.

His notable contributions as a Research Assistant in the Department of Special Education between 2019 and 2023 have been impactful. Prior to his Ph.D., Bicakci earned a Magister degree in Gifted Education from Hacettepe University and a Bachelor's degree in Special Education from Karadeniz Technical University. Bicakci's ongoing (June, 2023) doctoral research delves into complex aspects of gifted underachievement, labeling, and the interplay of educational sociology and psychology. This rigorous intellectual pursuit is mentored by the distinguished Prof. Dr. Dr. Albert Ziegler.

His research is primarily dedicated to comprehending and augmenting the educational experiences of gifted students. It spans an array of subjects, including the impacts of labeling, individual personality traits, cultural orientations, and intervention strategies tailored to address underachievement among gifted individuals.
