Bio

Volkan Akan received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering all from Hacettepe University, Turkey in 2001, 2004, 2012, respectively. Between 2001 and 2006, he was a Research Assistant at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Hacettepe University. In 2006, he joined TUBITAK Space Technologies Research Institute and, he still works as Chief Research Engineer at Microwave and Antenna Systems Group in the same institute. His main research areas are analytical and numerical electromagnetic analysis, microwave planar and nonplanar circuits, and antenna designs for communication subsystems of spacecrafts. He was involved in LEO satellite projects such as RASAT, Gokturk-2 projects which are first earth observation satellites of Turkey.
