At Acarological Studies (AS), the Editor-in-Chief has overall responsibility for the journal, while section editors appointed by the Editor-in-Chief manage the peer review processes of relevant manuscripts on behalf of the Editor-in-Chief. Section editors are responsible for making editorial decisions on manuscripts within their assigned areas and contribute to the evaluation of the journal’s editorial performance and, where appropriate, the selection of editorial board members.

All editors are expected to follow the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and to uphold the journal’s standards of editorial integrity, independence, confidentiality and fairness.

Editors should ensure that manuscripts are handled objectively and confidentially, that peer review is conducted appropriately, and that editorial decisions are based on the scientific quality, originality, relevance and methodological soundness of the submitted work. Editors should also manage potential conflicts of interest appropriately and ensure that authors and reviewers are treated fairly and consistently.
