Major Zoonotic Diseases Arising From The Food From Cattle

Abstract

    The meat and milk needs in Turkey greatly are met with dairy beef and with cow’s milk. While the ratio of beef to total of other red meat derived from other animal species such as sheep, goat and water buffalo in red meat production was 65% in 1990; nowadays it is over 90%. In addition, more than 90% of milk and dairy products are produced from cow’s milk today. High rates of beef and cow milk production increase the risk of exposure to zoonotic diseases caused by these foods and this is therefore important.
