Author Guidelines

Article Submission and Required Documents

• For detailed information about the process and submission of manuscripts to the journal, please refer to the "Ethical Principles and Publication Policy".
• The journal accepts academic articles written in Turkish, English, German and French.
• The information about the author(s) should be entered in the "Cover Page”. The manuscript file submitted by the author will be forwarded to reviewers, therefore the main text of the article should not contain any author-identifying information.
• The following documents must be uploaded to the system together with the manuscript:

        - Copyright Transfer Form

Writing Rules

The manuscript should be written using Microsoft Word in Latin alphabet. It must not exceed 20,000 words. To check the total word count in Word, click the word count in the bottom-left corner of the document; in the dialog that opens, ensure that “Include textboxes, footnotes and endnotes” is checked.

Formatting of the manuscript are as follows:

Main Text: Times New Roman, 12 pt, justified, with 1.5 line spacing.
Footnotes: Times New Roman font, 10 pt, justified, single-spacing. References in the study should be made in footnotes.
Section Headings: 12 pt font, bold, justified.
Headings: It should be formatted as shown below.

Title, Abstract and Keywords

• The title; should be written in 12 pt, bold, all capital letters, centered on the text.

• Extended abstract; after the English keywords, an extended abstract of 600-800 words written in English should be included. It should be in italics, justified and single-spaced. The purpose, hypothesis and results of the article should be summarized comprehensively.

• Abstract and keywords; After the title, an abstract of 100-250 words written in the language of the manuscript and five keywords should be added. It should be written in italics, justified and single line spacing.

• In manuscripts written in Turkish, the title, abstract and keywords of the study should be written in English after the Turkish abstract and keywords. The author may also include German/French title, abstract and keywords if desired.

Extended abstract; after the English keywords, an extended abstract of 600-800 words written in English should be included. It should be in italics, justified and single-spaced. The purpose, hypothesis and results of the article should be summarized comprehensively.


Footnotes

1. References to sources must be given as footnotes at the end of each page. For every citation, including the first, give only the author’s surname and the page number. Do not use ibid. or similar abbreviations.
    First Citation Example: Ayhan, p. 36.
    Example of Subsequent Citation: Ayhan, p. 40.

2. If more than one work of the same author is used, the title of the work should be abbreviated to in such a way as to distinguish it from the author's other works.
    Example: Ayhan, Business, p. 76.
    Ayhan, Savings, p. 33.

3. If the work of more than one author with the same surname is used, the name of the author should be abbreviated to distinguish the author from other authors.
    Example: Yildirim, M. F., p. 58.
    Yildirim, Z., p. 10.

4. References to Turkish court decisions should include, in order, the name of the court, the date of the decision, the case number, and the decision number:

5. Foreign judgments may be cited in any manner, provided that the same citation procedure is adopted throughout the entire work.


References

The following points should be considered in the writing of the bibliography:
  • The bibliography should start on a new page (separate page with a break).
  • The bibliography should be written in single line spacing, hanging.
  • Court decisions should not be cited in the bibliography.
  • For works in a foreign language, the original expressions on the work should be used. Example: Volume 28, 10th Auflage, 5th Edition, Issue 3, Heft 2.
Reference Format
1. Books: Surname, Name, Title, Edition, Publisher, Place and Year of Printing.
    Example: Ayhan, Rıza, Commercial Enterprise Law, 2nd Edition, Turhan Kitabevi, Ankara 2007.

2. Articles: Surname, First Name, "Title of the Article", Name of the Journal, Year, Volume No., Issue No., Page Range of the Article.
Example: Ayhan, Rıza, "The Legal Nature of the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund", Gazi University Law Faculty Journal: Prof. Dr. Naci Kınacıoğlu'na Armağan, 1997, C. 1, S. 2, pp. 31-40.

3. Edited Works: Surname, First Name, "Title of the Book Chapter", Name of the Book, Publisher, Edition, Place and Year of Printing, Page Range of the Book Chapter, (Editor/Editors: Editor's Surname, First Name / Editor's Surname, First Name).
    Example: Şenocak, Kemal, "Adi Ortakaklık Sözleşmesi", Borçlar Hukuku Özel Hükümler, Seçkin Yayıncılık, Ankara 2023, pp. 917-1151 (Editor: Öz, M. Turgut).
The same rule is applied for translated works; instead of the editor, "(Translator: Translator's Last Name, First Name)" should be written.
    Example: Di Marzo, Salvatore, Roman Law, 2nd Edition, Sulhi Garan Matbaası, Istanbul 1959 (Translator: Umur, Ziya).

4. Unpublished Theses: Surname, First Name, Title of the Thesis, Unpublished Master's/Doctoral Thesis, Place and Year of Publication.
Example: Türkoğlu, Kamile, İdari Yargılama Usulünde Kesin Hüküm, Unpublished Master's Thesis, Ankara 2010.

5. Internet resources: For sources found on the Internet, the URL and the date of access to the page should be indicated in parentheses. If the source found on the internet is in the form of a web page or news content, the URL and the date of access to the page should be written in parentheses after the title of the news and the date of publication of the news.
    Example: Supporting people, strengthening our societies and our social model (https://commission.europa.eu/priorities-2024-2029/european-social-fairness_en, Date of Access: 19.09.2024)
    Example: Periods for Filing a Lawsuit in Administrative Law, January 03, 2023 (https://blog.lexpera.com.tr/tag/insan-haklari/, Access Date: 13.06.2024)

6. In studies prepared by more than one author, the full names and surnames of all authors should be written.
    Example: Oğuzman, M. Kemal/Seliçi, Özer/Oktay-Özdemir, Saibe, Law of Property, 11th Edition, Filiz Kitabevi, Istanbul 2006.
