This policy aims to establish the ethical and scientific standards regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in manuscripts submitted to the Anatolian Journal of Philosophy (AFD).
The main objectives of this policy are to ensure the proper, transparent, and responsible use of AI in academic research, writing, and analysis processes, and to uphold the principles of data privacy and academic integrity.
This policy will be updated when necessary, depending on the scope, methods, and capacities of AI tools.
The policy is in line with the ethical principles and publication policies of the Anatolian Journal of Philosophy.
In AFD, AI tools may only be used for grammar, spelling, and style consistency checks in manuscripts. The use of AI for producing academic content, developing analyses, or constructing arguments is not permitted.
The Anatolian Journal of Philosophy commits not to employ AI tools at any stage of the editorial or peer review process.
Key Principles for the Use of AI
Transparency and Accountability:
Authors must clearly disclose any use of AI during the preparation of their manuscripts. The scope and limits of such use should be explicitly stated, and the contribution of AI must be indicated in the author’s declaration. AFD will publish this declaration in the final version of the article.
Accuracy:
Any content or suggestions generated by AI must be verified by the author. The accuracy and scientific validity of the material should be confirmed through proper academic sources.
Responsibility:
The full responsibility for all content and data resulting from AI use lies with the author. Authors must carefully evaluate the AI-assisted parts of their work and acknowledge that they retain ultimate responsibility.
Impartiality:
Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and act in accordance with the principles of impartiality. Regular monitoring and evaluation will be implemented to ensure that AI use remains unbiased.
Privacy and Security:
The confidentiality and security of personal data must be maintained. In processes of data collection, processing, and storage, authors must respect privacy and comply with relevant ethical and legal standards.
Citation:
AI tools should not be cited in footnotes or references. Their use should only be indicated in the Ethics Statement section of the manuscript.
