Article Submission Process
1. Submissions to our journal are accepted exclusively through the “DERGİPARK” system. All stages of the process, including peer review, are conducted via the DERGİPARK platform.
2. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original works that have not been published elsewhere or submitted for publication in another venue.
3. Along with the submitted manuscript, the authorship contribution form, copyright transfer form, and ethical declaration form must be completed and uploaded. No copyright or publication fee is paid to the author for works published in the journal. The Akdeniz University Faculty of Law Dean’s Office, and/or any person or institution authorized by the Dean’s Office, retains the exclusive rights to both printed and electronic publication of accepted manuscripts. By submitting a manuscript for publication, the author is deemed to have accepted this condition.
4. In accordance with the ULAKBİM decision dated February 25, 2020, which requires that “Ethics Committee Approval must be obtained, stated in the article, and documented for all fields of science (including Social Sciences) for clinical and experimental studies involving humans and animals,” authors must obtain and provide the necessary documentation for studies subject to this requirement. The relevant ethics approval documents must be uploaded to the system along with the manuscript. Manuscripts that do not meet this requirement will not be accepted for publication.
Initial Review Stage
5. Each submission undergoes an initial review, which includes plagiarism, formatting, and language checks.
6. The plagiarism check is carried out through the DERGİPARK system by generating a similarity report. Manuscripts with a similarity rate above 20% are immediately rejected by the editorial board.
7. After the plagiarism check, the manuscript is examined for compliance with the journal’s publication and language standards. If the editorial board determines that the submission does not conform to the publication guidelines, the author is given 15 days to make the necessary revisions. If the revisions are not completed within this period, the editorial board reserves the right to reject the manuscript without further communication with the author.
Peer Review Stage
8. Manuscripts that pass the initial review and comply with the journal’s publication policies are sent to two independent reviewers under the double-blind peer review system. Based on the reviewers’ evaluations, the editorial board may decide to accept, reject, or request minor or major revisions. The author is informed of the decision as soon as possible.
9. Manuscripts cannot be published without receiving two positive reviewer reports or without implementing the revisions suggested by the reviewers.
10. If one reviewer provides a positive opinion and the other a negative one, the manuscript is sent to a third reviewer, and the editorial decision is made based on the majority opinion.
Revision Stage
11. Authors are given one month to complete the revisions specified in the reviewers’ evaluation reports. If the author fails to submit the revised version within this period, the editorial board reserves the right to reject the manuscript without further correspondence with the author.
