At the initial review stage of the Journal of Akdeniz University Faculty of Law, each submitted manuscript is checked for plagiarism through a similarity report generated via the DERGİPARK system. During the submission process, the author must use one of the plagiarism detection programs — iThenticate, Turnitin, or İntihal Net.
Manuscripts with a similarity rate exceeding 20% are immediately rejected by the editorial board without being sent for peer review.
The rules considered during the similarity assessment process are as follows:
(a) The overall similarity rate of the manuscript must be 20% or below. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold are rejected before entering the peer review process.
(b) Bibliographic materials (such as references, quotations, etc.) are excluded from the similarity analysis.
(c) The editor reserves the right to perform additional similarity checks at any stage of the publication process if deemed necessary.
(d) By submitting a manuscript, all authors are deemed to have accepted the above-mentioned rules.
