Authorship and Contribution: Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All individuals who have made substantial contributions must be listed as co-authors. Those who have made only minor contributions, such as language editing, should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgmentssection. The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the manuscript and have agreed to its submission for publication. Authors are expected to carefully review the list and order of authors before submitting their manuscript and provide the final author list during the initial submission. The editor will consider adding, deleting, or rearranging authors only in exceptional circumstances after submission. All authors must approve any such additions, deletions, or rearrangements. Authors share joint responsibility for the submitted work.
Requests for Authorship Changes: Requests to add, remove, or rearrange author names in the author list can only be made before the manuscript is accepted and must be approved by the editorial board. In the event of such a request, the board requires the corresponding author to provide (a) the reason for the change in authorship and (b) written consent (e-mail) from all authors agreeing to the addition, removal, or rearrangement. The board will consider changes in authorship after acceptance only in exceptional cases.
Manuscript Writing: Authors of original research papers must present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. The manuscript should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the study. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.
Originality: Authors must guarantee that their manuscript is original, has not been previously published elsewhere, and is not under consideration for publication in another journal or in another language.
Use of Original Sources and Citation: Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works and, if they have used the work or words of others, that this has been appropriately cited. Information obtained privately (in conversation, correspondence, or discussion with third parties) must not be used without explicit, written permission from the source.
Data Access and Retention: Authors may be asked to provide the research data supporting their article for editorial review and/or comply with the journal’s open data requirements. Authors should be prepared, where possible, to make such data publicly available and to retain them for a reasonable period after publication. The journal recommends uploading research data to TÜBİTAK’s Aperta Portal. Multiple and Concurrent Publication Authors should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior. Except for abstracts, authors should not submit previously published papers to another journal for consideration.
Publication of Survey- and Interview-Based Studies: For all disciplines requiring ethics committee approval, such approval must be obtained, stated, and documented in the article. In studies requiring ethics approval, details of the approval (name of the board, date, and approval number) must be included in the Methods section and on the first or last page of the article. In case reports, information confirming that informed consent was obtained from participants must also be provided.
Conflict of Interest: A conflict of interest includes any financial or other interest that could inappropriately influence—or be perceived to influence—the work of an author, potentially undermining objectivity or creating unfair advantage for any person or organization. All sources of financial support and the role of sponsors in the research and manuscript preparation must be disclosed. If there is no funding, this should also be stated. Examples of potential conflicts of interest include consultancies, employment, or grants. Possible conflicts must be disclosed as early as possible.
Error Notification: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly notify the journal. The author is obliged to cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper if deemed necessary. If the editor or publisher learns of a credible error from a third party, the author must cooperate with the editor, including providing necessary clarifications.
Image Integrity: It is unacceptable to enhance, obscure, move, remove, or introduce a specific feature within an image. Authors must comply with the journal’s policy regarding the integrity of graphical materials and images.
