BAROFD is an international, scientific, open access periodical published in accordance with independent, unbiased, and double-blinded peer-review principles. The journal is the official publication of Bartin University, Bartin Faculty of Forestry and continues publication since 1997. BAROFD is published three times a year in April, August, and December, and the publication languages of the journal are Turkish and English.
BAROFD aims to contribute to the literature by publishing articles at the highest scientific level in every field of forestry and forestry industry. The journal publishes original articles, reviews and short notes prepared in accordance with ethical rules. BAROFD will focus on advances such as bio-products and energy, wood science and technology, advanced manufacturing techniques, composite structures, and biodiversity, forestry policy and economy, silviculture, sustainable forestry in science and technology. "Sustainable design" and "Landscape planning and architecture" topics have been excluded from the scope since 2022 for the journal to focus only on the forestry and forest industry areas.
Our journal is indexed by TÜBİTAK-ULAKBİM (TR Index), Web of Science: Zoological Record, CAB Abstracts & Full Text etc.
Submission Deadlines and Publication Capacity
BAROFD aims to adopt best practices in academic publishing through a transparent submission schedule, predictable evaluation timelines, and a standardized manuscript template. The journal is published three times a year (April, August, and December).
The submission periods and the maximum number of manuscripts to be accepted for each issue are presented below:

Note: Once the specified submission limit is reached, the system may automatically close submissions for the relevant issue. Submissions exceeding the quota may be transferred to the next issue with the author’s consent.

Considering all stages of the process—including initial screening, peer review, author revisions, and final decision—the average evaluation timeline is as follows:
