Prof. Dr. Özcan Erkan Akgün was selected for the Council of Higher Education Faculty Member Training Program in 1999. After completing his language education at the METU (Middle East Technical University) School of Foreign Languages, he earned his Master’s degree in Educational Technology from Ankara University, Graduate School of Educational Sciences, Department of Curriculum and Instruction in 2002, and completed his Ph.D. within the same department in 2005.
Between 2006 and 2015, he joined the Faculty of Education at Sakarya University as a faculty member in the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology (CEIT), where he served as vice department head, as well as on various departmental committees and as a coordinator. During these years, he took an active role in the education, training, and quality assurance committees of both the University and the Faculty. He served on the scientific board of the Sakarya University Development Foundation Schools (kindergarten, primary, middle, and high school) for one year (2008), and as the Assistant General Coordinator of the schools for another year (2009). From 2010 to 2015, he served as the Vice Director of the Graduate School of Educational Sciences from its foundational stage onward (excluding a one-year assignment abroad). During the 2011–2012 academic year, he worked at Texas A&M University's College of Education and Human Development, as well as at the AGGIE-STEM Project Center.
In November 2015, he began his tenure at the Faculty of Educational Sciences at Istanbul Medeniyet University. He served as the Head of the CEIT Department until 2018. Between 2016 and 2020, he worked as the Director of the Distance Education Application and Research Center, later handing over the role to a colleague from the team he had established. He also continued his role as Vice Dean from 2017 to 2021.
In 2023, he joined the Faculty of Educational Sciences at Ibn Haldun University. He continues his duties at this university as the Vice President, chair of the Artificial Intelligence in Education graduate programs, and a faculty member of the School of Educational Sciences.
He has numerous completed projects, articles, conference papers, books, and book chapters focusing on instructional design, enhancing learning, e-learning, distance education, technology integration in education, STEM, competencies in higher education, accreditation, effective learning-teaching, and learning motivation.
Doç. Dr. Yusuf Ziya OLPAK Kırşehir Ahi Evran Üniversitesi, Eğitim Fakültesi, Bilgisayar ve Öğretim Teknolojileri Eğitimi Bölümünde çalışmaktadır. İlgi alanları arasında; çevrimiçi öğrenme, öğretim tasarımı ve yapay zekâ konuları yer almaktadır.
Onur Dönmez, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Ege University College of Education’s (located in Izmir, Turkey) Computer Education & Instructional Technology (CEIT) Department. Dr. Onur Dönmez received his MA in 2008 at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences of Ege University. He received his Ph.D. in 2015 at the Anadolu University’s Graduate School of Educational Sciences. He has been teaching in the CEIT field at graduate and post-graduate levels since 2008. His primary research interests are instructional design, multimedia learning, multi-tasking and learning, digital parenting, children’s internet safety, and distance education. Dr. Donmez is serving as Vice Manager of Ege University’s Distance Education Application & Research Center. He has taken critical roles in several research projects funded by universities and The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). He is the Izmir District Coordinator of yearly TUBITAK Science Contests at K12 Level.
