About the Journal

Aegean Geographical Journal is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by the Department of Geography, Faculty of Letters, Ege University, since 1983. With more than four decades of continuous publication, it is one of Türkiye's well-established journals in the field of geography. The journal is dedicated to advancing geographical scholarship and promoting the dissemination of high-quality scientific research.

The journal is published biannually, with issues appearing in June and December. It accepts manuscripts in both Turkish and English, and all submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process.

Until 2020, the Ege Journal of Geography was published in both print (ISSN: 1300-5634) and electronic formats. Following a decision of the Ege University Senate, the journal has since been published exclusively in electronic form. As an open-access journal, it provides immediate and free access to all published content without subscription or access fees.

The Ege Journal of Geography is indexed in TR Dizin and Index Copernicus International. The journal is committed to maintaining a transparent, impartial, and ethical editorial process in accordance with national and international standards of scholarly publishing. It seeks to enhance the visibility of high-quality research and to contribute to the advancement of geographical science at both the national and international levels.

The journal publishes original research across the full spectrum of geographical scholarship, including physical geography, human and economic geography, regional geography, geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, environmental studies, climate change, natural hazards and disasters, population and migration studies, urbanization, tourism, geography education, and other subfields of geography. Interdisciplinary research is also welcomed, provided that it demonstrates a clear geographical perspective and a strong spatial analytical approach.
