Aim & Scope

Aims

Aegean Geographical Journal aims to promote the generation and dissemination of original scholarly knowledge in the theoretical, methodological, and applied fields of geography. The journal publishes high-quality research that examines spatial processes, human–environment interactions, and contemporary geographical issues through rigorous scientific inquiry.

The journal encourages submissions that go beyond descriptive accounts by addressing clearly defined research problems, employing sound methodological approaches, presenting evidence-based findings, and making original contributions to geographical scholarship. Priority is given to studies that advance theoretical perspectives, introduce innovative methods and analytical techniques, explain geographical processes across different spatial and temporal scales, and integrate interdisciplinary approaches within a geographical framework.

Aegean Geographical Journal  is committed to the principles of academic excellence, originality, research integrity, and methodological rigor. It seeks to provide a high-quality scholarly communication platform that supports the advancement of geographical science at both the national and international levels.

Scope

Aegean Geographical Journal publishes original scholarly research in the theoretical, methodological, and applied fields of geography. The journal considers manuscripts that investigate natural and human geographical processes, their spatial patterns, interactions, and geographical dynamics across different spatial and temporal scales through rigorous scientific inquiry.

The journal welcomes research covering the broad spectrum of geographical scholarship, including, but not limited to, spatial analysis, human–environment interactions, regional disparities, environmental change, settlement systems, population dynamics and migration, physical geographical processes, sustainability, and geospatial technologies. Studies that make original theoretical or methodological contributions to geography are also encouraged. Interdisciplinary research is considered, provided that it demonstrates a clear geographical perspective and a robust spatial approach.

Aegean Geographical Journal seeks to publish research that goes beyond descriptive accounts by addressing clearly defined research problems, employing scientifically sound methodologies, and presenting rigorous analyses and well-supported interpretations. Priority is given to studies that make original contributions to geographical knowledge. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's scientific, methodological, or editorial standards may be declined during the initial editorial screening without being sent for external peer review.
