Open Access Policy (A-Class Revision)
1. Core Policy and Fees
The Aegean Journal of Medical Sciences is a gold open-access journal adhering to the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). All content is provided immediately, free of charge, universally, and permanently upon publication (no embargo).
Full texts of all articles are accessible via article pages and are freely archived in the DergiPark national repository:
https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/egetbd/archive
The journal does not charge authors any Article Processing Charges (APCs) or submission fees at any stage.
2. Copyright and Licensing
• License: All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. The journal provides the license information in a machine-readable format (as metadata) on all article pages.
• License Scope (CC BY-NC):
o BY (Attribution): Proper credit must be given to the original source (author and journal).
o NC (Non-Commercial): The material may not be used for commercial purposes.
o Under this license, users are free to copy, share, adapt, and reuse the material for non-commercial purposes with proper attribution, without needing prior permission from the author or publisher.
• Copyright:
o The intellectual copyright of the published article remains with the author(s).
o Upon acceptance, the author(s) agree to transfer the exclusive commercial usage rights of the work to the Uşak Surgical Association. For permissions regarding commercial use (e.g., reprints, advertising), the Editorial Board must be contacted at egetipbilimleridergisi@gmail.com.
3. Author Self-Archiving Policy
Authors have the right to deposit and share the following versions of their article immediately, without any embargo period:
1. Accepted Author Manuscript (AAM): The final version that has passed peer review but has not yet undergone journal typesetting.
2. Version of Record (VoR): The official, typeset, and formatted PDF version published by the journal.
Authors may deposit these versions on personal websites, in institutional repositories, or on non-profit scholarly sharing networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu). All deposits must include the full bibliographic citation and a link (DOI or URL) to the official Version of Record in the journal.
4. Long-Term Preservation and Digital Archiving
All journal content is secured under DergiPark’s national archiving infrastructure (via PKP PN and LOCKSS). These systems guarantee the long-term preservation and continued accessibility of the content, even in the event of a system failure.
