Aim & Scope

Journal of Education and Humanities: Theory and Practice is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year by the Union of Educators [Eğitim-Bir-Sen]. The journal aims to publish theoretical and applied studies related to educational sciences and the teaching profession. In particular, priority is given to studies addressing the working lives, labor rights, and professional development of teachers and administrators. Studies in other areas of the humanities will be considered for publication only if they are related to educational sciences and the teaching profession.

As of 2026, EIBD has transitioned to a continuous publication model and is published twice a year (in the summer and fall) in both print and online formats. Under the continuous publication model, studies that successfully complete the peer review process and are accepted are published immediately as the current issue. The aim is to ensure that accepted works are published without delay and made available to academics. Except for delays caused by the authors, it is planned that the peer review process for articles submitted to the journal will be completed within 3–6 months (including revision and re-evaluation processes).

INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS

Articles submitted to the Journal of Education and Humanities: Theory and Practice must be formatted in accordance with the Journal’s Publication Guidelines and uploaded via the Dergipark system. Submitted articles are first reviewed by the Editorial Board for compliance with the journal’s purpose, subject matter, content, and general publication and formatting guidelines. Manuscripts deemed unsuitable are returned to the authors without further evaluation. Manuscripts deemed suitable for publication are submitted to at least two referees in the relevant field for scientific evaluation. In the event of a disagreement among the referees, the opinion of a third referee may be sought. For a manuscript to be published in the journal, at least two referees in the relevant field must provide a positive review.

Authors who have received revision suggestions must indicate the revisions, along with the suggestions, either by writing in the comment boxes on the manuscript, using the track changes feature, or by providing a separate report specifying the page, paragraph, and line numbers. If the changes suggested by the reviewers are not accepted by the author(s), the manuscript may be withdrawn by the author(s). Furthermore, in such cases, the Editorial Board has full authority to return the manuscript to the author or to seek a review from another reviewer. Communication between the author(s) and the reviewers is facilitated solely by the editor or editorial assistants. Unless otherwise specified, the Editorial Board conducts communication with the first author.
