He was born in Istanbul in 1970, he graduated from the Faculty of Theology (Usul al-Din) at Al-Azhar University, Egypt, in 1992. He earned his Master’s degree from Marmara University’s Institute of Social Sciences in 1996, with a thesis titled 'Hadislere Göre Lânet' (Cursing According to Hadiths). In 2008, he completed his PhD at Selçuk University’s Institute of Social Sciences, defending his dissertation on 'XX. Asır Halep Muhaddisleri ve Abdülfettâh Ebû Gudde'nin Hadisçiliği' (20th Century Aleppo Hadith Scholars and Abdülfettâh Ebû Gudde’s Scholarship in Hadith). Between 1994 and 2012, he served in various roles within the Presidency of Religious Affairs, including positions as a Quran course instructor, Imam-Hatip, and training center lecturer. From 2012 to 2024, he held several academic and administrative positions at Yalova University’s Faculty of Theology, attaining the rank of Associate Professor in 2022. In 2024, he was appointed as the Religious Services Counselor in Nouakchott, Mauritania, where he currently serves. He is married and the father of three children.

Ankara Ü. İlahiyat fakültesinden 1992'de mezun oldum. Yüksek Lisansımı Selçuk Ü. Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsünde 1996'da tamamladım. Aynı enstitüde 2004 yılında doktoramı bitirdim. 2015 Ekiminde doçent, 2022 yılında profesör oldum. Halen Necmettin Erbakan Ü. AK. İlahiyat Fakültesi Hadis Anabilim Dalı'nda Profesör Doktor unvanıyla Öğretim Üyesi olarak görevimi sürdürmekteyim.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Suiçmez was born in 1968 in Sürmene, Trabzon. In 1975, he migrated with his family to Northern Cyprus, where he completed his primary, secondary, and high school education. Between 1987 and 1989, he pursued English preparatory studies at Eastern Mediterranean University, subsequently beginning undergraduate studies in Business and Economics (English).
In 1995, he completed his Associate and Bachelor’s degrees in Arabic at the Islamic University of Medina. In 1998, he earned his Master’s degree through the English-language graduate program at the Faculty of Theology, Karadeniz Technical University (Rize), while serving as a research assistant in the university’s Faculty of Social Sciences. In 2005, he received his Ph.D. from the Institute of Social Sciences at Ankara University.
In 2017, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor by his university, and in 2019, this title was officially conferred by the Interuniversity Board of Turkey.
From 2003 to 2005, he served in the Department of Turkish Education at Eastern Mediterranean University; from 2005 to 2007, in the Department of General Education at the same institution; and between 2000 and 2011, he worked as a lecturer in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Near East University. Between 2009 and 2011, he held the position of President of Religious Affairs in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. In 2011, he became the Founding General Coordinator of the newly established Faculty of Theology at Near East University, and until 2014, he served as Acting Dean of the same faculty. He continues to work there as a faculty member.
In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Suiçmez completed an Associate Degree in Justice at Anadolu University’s Open Education Faculty in 2017, and in 2022, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at Near East University. He is currently pursuing his second doctoral degree in Public Law with a dissertation entitled “Legal Responsibility and Artificial Intelligence from the Perspective of General Legal Theory.”
He has authored numerous national and international publications. He is proficient in Arabic and English, has intermediate knowledge of Greek, and is also a national athlete. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Suiçmez is married and the father of two children.
