Istanbul Aydin University Journal of Social Sciences aims to publish the authentic scientific articles of researchers in accordance with the publication principles in order to globalize with the guidance of science, to reach to the society it is included, and to lead their changing and improving requisitions. Istanbul Aydin University Journal of Social Sciences is the publication body of Istanbul Aydin University. Istanbul Aydin University Journal of Social Sciences only accepts the articles belonging to social sciences field. It is a periodical publication containing authentic scientific articles in Turkish and English languages. Istanbul Aydin University Journal of Social Sciences is a peer-reviewed journal which is published since 2009.
Istanbul Aydin University Journal of Social Sciences (IAUD), having social sciences as a basis, accepts and publishes the articles submitted within the framework of journalism and media studies, visual communication design, public relations, cinema, political science, communication studies, social psychology, sociology, linguistics, communication sociology, communication systems, communication psychology, communication history, interpersonal communication, mass communication, intercultural communication, political communication and new communication technologies, applied communication and related fields of social sciences.

Istanbul Aydin University Journal of Social Sciences is a peer-reviewed scientific journal which is electronically published as quarterly. Articles with original theoretical and/or experimental study and various scientific research methods are accepted. Editor Board of Istanbul Aydin University Journal of Social Sciences is authorized to accept or deny the articles with the evaluations of national and international experts.

Publication Principles
Istanbul Aydin University Journal of Social Sciences (IAUD) publishes articles within the frameworks of scientific fields related to social sciences such as applied communication, communication sciences, media studies, new media, digital culture, advertising, public relations, education sciences, distance education, visual communication design, radio, television, cinema, sociology and such.

Istanbul Aydin University Journal of Social Sciences is a peer-reviewed quarterly journal. Articles with original theoretical and/or experimental study and fixed reference values as well as relevant informative explanations are accepted.
Publication board of Istanbul Aydin University Journal of Social Sciences is authorized to accept or deny the articles with the evaluations of national and international experts.

GENERAL RULES
Language to be used in the articles and papers published in the journal are Turkish and English.
In case of the existence of an institution which supports the study, it should be stated within the text.
Submitted papers should be maximum of 12.000 words including the references and annex.
Articles should be edited in accordance with the APA reference (6.0) system. Please be attentive in referencing the sources that are used in the text in the reference section.
Maximum plagiarism rate determined by the editorial board for the journal is 15%. Filtering options in the plagiarism detection program are as follows: -Quotes excluded –Text parts with less than 5 words overlapping – Other filtering options in the program are not included in the report.

Writing Rules

Page Order
The entirety of the text area should be 170mm x 240mm with leaving space from the top (3.5 cm), bottom (2.5cm), left (2.5cm) and right (2cm).

Font
Times New Roman font type should be used. Turkish “Öz” and English “Abstract” sections should be in 11 points size, main text 10 points, references 1 points, and the text, Turkish-English abstract and references should be justified. Text should be written with one line spacing and a blank line between the paragraphs.

Headings
Article should be edited by means of consisting of a main heading and sub headings.
Main Heading
Main heading should be in Times New Roman font, all capitalized with 14 points size, in Microsoft Word format. Name of the author, abbreviations, author ORCID number and e-mail address should be written after the heading after two blank lines, and name with only the first letter capitalized and the surname with all letters capitalized should be written in 11 points size.

Öz
“ÖZ” should not be more than 300 words, and should be written bold, in Times New Roman font with 11 points size by justifying and as a single paragraph in the Microsoft Word format. Keywords should be written in italic and bold as 11 points size. Keywords determined in accordance with the article, minimum three and maximum five, should be written by capitalizing each word. Brief information concerning the article’s subject, research method and conclusion should be stated in the “ÖZ” section.

Abstract
Abstract should be written under the keywords in Turkish by leaving two blank lines. It should be written in Times New Roman font, all capitalized, in 11 points size, justified and as a single paragraph in the Microsoft Word format. Abstract should not be more than 600 words and the heading “ABSTRACT” should be written in 11 points size with bold, and all of the text should be written in Times New Roman and with Microsoft Word format. Keywords should be written in italic and bold as 11 points size. Keywords determined in accordance with the article, minimum three and maximum five, should be written by capitalizing each word. Brief information concerning the article’s subject, research method and conclusion should be stated in the “Abstract” section.

Sections
Sub-heading sections formed in accordance with the article’s contents (such as INTRODUCTION, NOTIONAL FRAMEWORK, LITERATURE REVIEW, RESEARCH METHODOLOGY, FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, etc.) should be written by capitalizing each letter, in 11 points size with bold letters, and should be written without numbering.

Main Text
Sub-headings should be in 11 points size, bold and with all capitalized letters, and the text part should be in 11 points with Times New Roman font, in Microsoft Word format. Articles should be written in a single column, justified and single line between paragraphs. Sub-heading of the first chapter should be written under the keywords with one blank line, and there should be no additional blank lines in the following text paragraphs. Length of the article should not surpass 20 pages including shapes and figures.

Table, Shape, Graphs and Picture
Table, shape, graphs and picture which are not created by the author(s) themselves they can only be used by referencing a “source” within the text. Table, shape, graphs and pictures should be placed in accordance with the text area limits and their titles should be written in 11 points size, centered. Tables and graphs should be sorted as Table 1., Table 2., / Graph 1., Graph 2., etc. Table numbers and titles should be written before the tables themselves. Numbers and titles of shapes, graphs and pictures should be written under them by sorting as Shape 1., Shape 2., / Picture 1., Picture 2., etc. Title of the tables, shapes, graphs and pictures should be written by capitalizing each word.

Conclusion
Heading should be written in bold, 11 points, and the text part should be written in 11 points with Times New Roman font, in the Microsoft Word format.

Referencing within the article

References within the article should be arranged in accordance with the APA (latest version) rules.

In scientific papers sent to IAUD, the guidelines related to the Scientific Research and Publication Ethics of Higher Education Institutions, the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors and the International Standards for the Authors and Authors of the Committee should be taken into attention. Plagiarism, forgery in the data, misleading, repetition of publications, divisional publication and individuals who do not contribute to the research are among the authors are unacceptable practices within the ethical rules. Legal actions will be taken in case of any ethical irregularity related to this and similar practices.

a)Plagiarism: Placing the original ideas, methods, data, or works of others, partly or completely, without making reference to the scientific rules, is dealt with in the context of plagiarism. In order to avoid plagiarism, the authors should refer to the scientific rules in a manner that is appropriate and should pay attention to the references of all scientific papers in their research.

b)Forgery of Data: The use of data that does not exist or is modified in scientific research is data in the scope of forgery. Authors should analyze their data in accordance with ethical rules and without exposing them to a change in validity and reliability during the process.

c)Detortion: Changing the records or data obtained from the study, showing the devices or materials that are not used in the research as used, changing or shaping the research results according to the interests of the people and organizations that are supported are considered within the scope of distortion. The authors should be honest, objective and transparent in the information they provide in relation to the research process. They should avoid violating the rules of ethics.

d)Repetition: Presenting the same publication as separate publications without referring to the previous publications is considered within the scope of repetition of publications. The responsibility for the publication of the publications submitted for evaluation in another place or in the evaluation process belongs to the authors. The authors should refrain from repeating the original and original research and they should pay attention to submit their original and original research.

e)Divisional Publication: Publishing the results of a research by breaking into pieces and multiplying in a manner that disrupts the integrity of the research and submitting these as separate research is considered as divisional publication. The authors should consider the integrity of the research and avoid the divisions that will affect the results.

f)Authorship: The inclusion of people who do not contribute to the research or not to include the people who have contributed is considered within the scope of unfair writing. All authors should have contributed sufficiently to the planning, design, data collection, analysis, evaluation, preparation of the research and finalization of the research.


Ethics Committee Approval

“Ethics Committee Approval” is required for the following researches. An approved “Ethics Committee Approval” must be obtained from the institution where the author of the article is located. The researches requiring the Ethics Committee’s approval are as follows:

- Any researches carried out with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from participants using survey, interview, focus group work, observation, experiment, interview techniques,
- Use of humans and animals (including material / data) for experimental or other scientific purposes,
- Clinical researches on humans,
- Researches on animals,
- Retrospective studies in accordance with the law of protection of personal data,
Also;
- Stating that the “informed consent form” was taken in the case reports,
- Obtaining and specifying the permission of the owners for the use of scale, questionnaire and photos belonging to others,
- Stating that copyright regulations are obeyed for the ideas and works of art used.

“Ethics Committee Permission” should be stated in these articles. The articles should include the statement that Research and Publication Ethics are complied with.

There is no charge for the journal. In addition, all accepted articles are published free of charge.
