Peer Review: Double-Blind

Peer Review Process

IJOKS follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure academic integrity and publication quality.

1.     Initial Screening: All submissions are checked for plagiarism (similarity rate < 19%) and adherence to author guidelines.

2.     Reviewer Assignment: Each manuscript is assigned to at least two independent external reviewers with relevant expertise.

3.     Decision Policy:

o   Two acceptances → Accepted

o   Two rejections → Rejected

o   One acceptance + one rejection → Sent to a third reviewer for a final decision.

4.     Review Time: Average time to first decision is 6–8 weeks.

5.     Review Format: Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on originality, methodology, ethical compliance, language quality, and contribution to Kurdish studies.

Ethical Principles

IJOKS is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics as outlined by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).

·        For Authors: All submitted works must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Ethical approval must be obtained for studies involving human or animal subjects.

·        For Reviewers: Reviewers must maintain confidentiality, declare any conflicts of interest, and provide objective, constructive feedback.

·        For Editors: Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on academic merit without discrimination based on ethnicity, nationality, political views, gender, or religion.

Plagiarism Policy: All manuscripts are screened using professional similarity detection software (iThenticate / Turnitin). Manuscripts with a similarity rate exceeding 19% (excluding references) are rejected immediately.

Open Access Statement

IJOKS provides immediate open access to all its content under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY-NC-ND) license. This means:

Anyone can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of all published articles without any financial, legal, or technical barriers.

No subscription fee, pay-per-view fee, or any other access fee is charged to readers or their institutions.

Authors retain copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication.

Under the CC BY-NC-ND license, users may:

Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.

Under the following terms:

Attribution (BY): Users must give appropriate credit to the original author(s) and the journal, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.

NonCommercial (NC): Users may not use the material for commercial purposes without explicit permission from the author(s) and publisher.

NoDerivatives (ND): Users may not remix, transform, or build upon the material. Any distribution must use the original, unmodified version of the article.

Publication Fee

 IJOKS charges a moderate APC of 150 EUR. Waivers are available.
