PURPOSE and SCOPE

Digital transformation has become an essential process for organizations to keep pace with rapidly changing technologies. Beyond upgrading technological infrastructures, it profoundly reshapes business models, strategies, and stakeholder interactions. Highlighted as a key objective in the 12th Development Plan, digital transformation enhances companies' competitive advantage by enabling rapid and accurate decision-making through AI-supported solutions. It also facilitates access to global markets and better meets stakeholder expectations using digital tools. Automation and digital solutions boost operational efficiency by eliminating non-automated processes, saving time and reducing costs. Organizations capable of effectively managing intelligent systems—emerging from breakthroughs in AI, machine learning, and data analytics—can achieve sustainable success in a competitive landscape.

Considering the opportunities and challenges digital transformation offers to organizations, the goal of this special issue is to explore the role of digital transformation in management by discovering new theories, expanding empirical research areas, and redefining existing frameworks. This issue welcomes deductive or inductive empirical studies utilizing quantitative or qualitative data, as well as strong theoretical/conceptual articles.
