Bu araştırmanın amacı ortaokul öğrencilerinin hoşgörü eğilimlerinin ve algılarının belirlenmesidir. Araştırma karma araştırma desenlerinden biri olan yakınsayan paralel desende yürütülmüştür. Çalışma Aydın ilinde bulunan üç ortaokulda gerçekleştirilmiş ve çalışmaya 5., 6.,7. ve 8. sınıflarda öğrenim gören toplam 392 ortaokul öğrencisi katılmıştır. It was collected using the "Tolerance Tendency Scale" in the quantitative dimension of the study, and the tolerance metaphor form developed by the researchers in the qualitative dimension. Çalışmadan elde edilen veriler içerik analizi, frekans, yüzde, aritmetik ortalama, eta-kare, bağımsız gruplar t-testi ve tek yönlü ANOVA testleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda öğrencilerin hoşgörü eğilimlerinin cinsiyet ve sınıf değişkenine göre anlamlı farklılık göstermediği, ailelerini hoşgörülü olarak görme ve hoşgörüyü öğrenmelerindeki etkili olan faktör değişkenlerine göre hoşgörü eğilimlerinin anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda ailelerini hoşgörülü olarak değerlendiren öğrencilerin ve hoşgörüyü ailelerinden öğrenen öğrencilerin hoşgörü eğilim puan ortalamalarının daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin metaforlar incelendiğinde ise öğrencilerin kayda değer bir kısmının hoşgörüyü olumlu bir unsur olarak algıladıkları, bir kısmının olumsuz bir unsur olarak, bir kısmının ise değişkenlik gösterebilen bir unsur olarak algıladıkları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The aim of this research is to determine the views of gifted individuals and parents with gifted individuals about the difficulties they experience. The study group of the research consists of nine volunteer participants, three gifted and six gifted parents, residing in a province located in the northwest of the Central Anatolian Region of Turkey. In this study, data were collected using semi-structured interview technique. In the study, the difficulties faced by the gifted individuals in their family, communication, environment, and educational environments, their future plans, areas of interest, their evaluations about their social relations with their peers, and the parents of the gifted individuals in accessing information about their children, supporting their interests, in communication, before and after diagnosis. Opinions were received about the difficulties they experienced, their thoughts on their children's education, the ways they gained social skills, and suggestions for reducing the difficulties they experienced. The results of the study revealed that the children of families where gifted individuals have difficulties in educational environments, attitudes of the people around them and in communication, face difficulties before and after diagnosis and in supporting their interests. For these difficulties, the parents of gifted children made suggestions such as providing education, showing love and care for gifted individuals.
