Journal of the Faculty of Theology, which started its publication life in 2014, is an international academic journal published twice a year in June and December by Kilis 7 Aralik University Faculty of Theology. Ours is a journal that adopts quality academic publication as a principle and is scanned in many national and international indexes, especially in TR Index, INDEX ISLAMICUS, EBSCO. It aims to publish and share with the public the studies on religious studies (Social and Human Sciences/Religion) such as research articles, book reviews, thesis reviews, and symposium evaluations. Articles submitted for publication are subject to double-blind peer-review evaluation by at least two referees. In addition, it must be confirmed, through a special program used in plagiarism detection, that the articles have not been published before and do not contain plagiarism. Our journal publishes articles in Turkish, Arabic, English, German and Russian languages.

Journal of the Faculty of Theology publishes academic studies prepared in the field of Religious Studies (Social and Human Sciences/Religion).
Basic Islamic Sciences: Tafsir, Hadith, Kalam, Islamic Law, History of Islamic Sects, Sufism, Arabic Language and Literature.
Philosophy and Religious Studies: Islamic Philosophy, Philosophy of Religion, Psychology of Religion, Sociology of Religion, Religious Education, History of Religions, Logic.
Islamic History and Arts: History of Islam, History of Islamic Arts, Turkish-Islamic Literature, Religious Music.
A maximum of one research article by the same author can be published in any issue.

Journal of the Faculty of Theology uses ISNAD Citation System (empoying footnotes) for spelling rules. You can visit https://www.isnadsistemi.org/ for the spelling rules in question. Articles that do not comply with the ISNAD Citation System concerning footnotes, bibliography and other spelling rules will be returned to their authors..

Articles must contain titles in Turkish and English, author identifier information in Turkish and English, 550-650 words each in Turkish Abstract and English Abstract, and Keywords of at least five words, the first of which is the branch of science in which the article is written, and the English equivalent of these Keywords, an INTRODUCTION, a CONCLUSION and REFERENCES.

The number of words in the article should not exceed 10,000.

The following template should be taken as a basis for the figural ordering of the above information, the titling system, and the writing styles such as capital-small-bold.

The publication processes implemented for Journal of the Faculty of Theology constitute the basis for the development and distribution of information in an impartial and respectable manner. The processes implemented in this direction are reflected forthrightly in the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support the authors. Peer-reviewed studies are the ones that embody and support the scientific method. At this point, it is important that all stakeholders of the process (authors, readers and researchers, publisher, referees and editors) comply with the standards for ethical principles. Journal of the Faculty of Theology expects all stakeholders to bear the following ethical responsibilities within the scope of publication ethics.
The ethical duties and responsibilities listed below have been prepared by taking into account the open access guidelines and policies published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (See COPE Directive in Turkish).

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and their supporting institutions. Peer-reviewed articles support and shape scientific methods. Therefore, it is important for all parties involved in publishing, authors, journal editors, referees and publishing organizations to agree on the standards of expected ethical behavior:
1. Authorship
The bibliography list should be complete.
Plagiarism and fake data must not be included.
The same research should not be attempted to be published in more than one journal, and it should comply with scientific research and publication ethics.
Situations that violate scientific research and publication ethics are as follows:
a) Plagiarism: Presenting the ideas, methods, data, practices, writings, figures or works of others as their own work, in whole or in part, without attribution in accordance with scientific rules,
b) Fraud: To produce data that is not based on research, to edit or change the presented or published work on the basis of untrue data, to report or publish these, to present a fake research as if it has been studied before,
c) Distortion: To falsify research records and obtained data, to present methods, devices and materials not used in the research as if they were used, to ignore the data that are not suitable for the research hypothesis, to manipulate the data and/or results in order to fit the relevant theory or assumptions, falsify or shape research results in their own interests,
d) Republishing: To present more than one work for associate professorship exam evaluations and academic promotions, containing the same results of a research as if they are separate works
e) Slicing: Presenting the results of a research as separate works for the evaluation of associate professorship exams and for academic promotions, by dividing the results of a research in a way that violates the integrity of the research, and by making multiple publications without deploying reference to one another,
f) Unfair authorship: Including people, who do not contribute actively, among the authors, not including those, who contribute actively, among the authors, changing the order of authors inappropriately and without reason, removing the names of those, who contributed actively, from the work at the time of publication or in subsequent editions; to include one’s name among the authors wielding his/her influence,
g) Other types of ethical violations: Not clearly stating the supporting persons, institutions or organizations and their contributions in the publications of the research carried out with support, not complying with the ethical rules in research on humans and animals, not respecting the rights of patients in the publications, to share the information contained in the work with others before it is published, to misuse the resources, places, facilities and devices provided or reserved for scientific research, to make a completely baseless, groundless and deliberate accusation of ethical violation (YÖK Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive, Article 8).

2. Author's Responsibilities
All authors must contribute significantly to the research.
All data in the article must be declared as true and original.
All authors must ensure retraction and correction of errors.

3. Responsibilities of Arbitrators
Evaluations must be impartial.
Reviewers must not have a conflict of interest with the research, authors and/or research funders.

Referees must bring forth relevant works published but uncited.
Checked articles should be kept confidential.

4. Editorial Responsibilities
Editors have full responsibility and authority to accept or reject an article.
Editors must not have a conflict of interest regarding the accepted or rejected articles.
Only the articles that will contribute to the field must be accepted.
The publication of the corrected version or the retraction of the article must be supported, when errors are found.
Referees must keep anonymity and prevent plagiarism/fake data.

The peer-review process is central to the success of scientific publishing. It is part of our commitment to protect and improve the peer-review process, and Journal of the Faculty of Theology has an obligation to assist the scientific community in all matters concerning publishing ethics, especially in case of questionable, duplicate publications, or plagiarism.

When the reader notices an important mistake or mistake in an article published in the Journal of the Faculty of Theology, or has any complaints about editorial content (plagiarism, duplicate articles, etc.), he/she can make a complaint/complaint by sending an e-mail to the address ilahiyatdergisi@kilis.edu.tr. We welcome complaints as they provide an opportunity for us to improve and we aim to respond quickly and constructively.

Our journal does not charge the authors any fee for the article evaluation and publication process. No fee is paid to the authors.
