Special Issue Policy

KADEM Women's Studies Journal Special Issue Policy

The KADEM Women's Studies Journal may publish one special issue per year at the discretion of the editor and editorial board. Those wishing to propose a special issue are invited to submit their proposals, including an introduction of the relevant scientific event, via Dergipark, as with regular articles. The editors and editorial board will review proposals, and if accepted, a call for the special issue may be announced.

Please see below for the conditions required for special issues.

Special Issue Theme

Special issues in the KADEM Women's Studies Journal comprise a themed collection of articles focused on a current, specific research topic that aligns with the journal's aims and scope. The objective is to make a valuable contribution to academic literature by bringing together a diverse range of ideas, research, and experiences. The editorial board may, at its discretion, announce a call for a special issue or publish one in response to requests from researchers or organizers of scientific events such as symposiums and conferences. The editorial board welcomes special issue requests from relevant parties. Conference or symposium papers will be reviewed by the editorial board members and assistant editors to determine their suitability for inclusion.

Additionally, the KADEM Women's Studies Journal may announce a call for a special issue on an important and timely topic. This type of special issue typically includes 10-12 research articles plus introductory and concluding articles.

The main criteria for evaluating special issue proposals are as follows:
- The importance and timeliness of the topic or approach
- The innovation it brings to the related literature
- Consistency with the publication policy and scope of the journal

All articles submitted for the special issue will be managed via the Dergipark platform. Articles may be in either English or Turkish, though the editorial board reserves the right to adjust the number and language distribution of articles with prior notice. Articles should be prepared according to the KADEM Women's Studies Journal template and writing guidelines. Additionally, the special issue editor may establish maximum and minimum page limits for articles.

Submission, Review, and Revision Process

The peer review process for articles accepted for the special issue is conducted by the chief editor or guest editor(s) of the KADEM Women's Studies Journal. The special issue editor is responsible for ensuring articles are appropriate for the theme and scope, submitted on time, and aligned with peer review recommendations. The evaluation process for articles is the same as that used for regular issues, with area editors available to assist the special issue editor.

Please note that the KADEM Women's Studies Journal's free publication policy also applies to special issues.
