Call for Papers in English
Kader, founded in 2003, is an international academic journal indexed by Atla Religion Database (Atla RDB), EBSCO Academic Search Complete, DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), and Ulakbim TR Index. Kader has been accepting articles in Turkish, English, and Arabic and publishing them twice a year. As of 2021, KADER will publish an annual special issue dedicated to English-language articles. We welcome submissions through our Dergipark Page managed by Dergipark.
- Submission Dates: 15 March - 31 October 2024
- Publication Date: 31 December 2024
Expectations for the English Issue
- Kader calls for English-language articles, translations, research notes, book and dissertation reviews, and reports of academic events such as conferences and symposia on Kalam (Islamic theology) and interdisciplinary fields (Logic, Philosophy, Humanities & Social Sciences, etc.). Articles submitted for publication are subjected to double-blind peer review. In addition, all submitted papers are analyzed by a special electronic program to determine whether they have been previously published or contain plagiarism. KADER is free: there is no charge for the articles sent to our journal.
- Submitted articles are expected to be no more than 10,000 words (excluding footnotes, bibliography, and abstracts and summaries in English and Turkish), including their attachments, pictures, figures, maps, etc. Book reviews should not exceed 2000 words, including a 60-80 word abstract. Articles must include Turkish and English abstracts in the range of 500-700 words (no more than 5000 characters including spaces) to reflect the content of the research, including introduction, method, findings, evaluation and results, and keywords (5-7 words).
- The text font is Isnad Font, the font size should be 10 pt, and the footnotes should be 8 pt. Isnad Font can be downloaded from the Isnad Citation Style webpage.
- Articles submitted for publication are subjected to a pre-publication evaluation, plagiarism control, Turkish-English language check, and reviewers’ approval. Every article is examined three times during the pre-publication phase. If it fails to pass through this process, it is returned to the author. It will not be reconsidered in the same period of publication. The author will be notified with a final decision (admitted or not) within 60 days after the submission. Admitted articles are subject to a double-blind peer review, in which two peer reviewers are assigned to carefully evaluate the blinded submission for clarity, consistency, and scholarship, and to offer helpful feedback if needed.
- The author is responsible for uploading the article in English. As mentioned, the articles will be checked by the Kader language editors. In addition, the author may be asked for professional support from a translator and/or proofreader if the editors deem it necessary.
